Why Choose Soft Step Carpet and Flooring
A: At Soft Step Carpet and Flooring, we know that proper care is key to preserving the stunning look and durability of your Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) flooring. After installation, start by sweeping or vacuuming regularly with a soft-bristle attachment to remove dirt and grit that can scratch the surface. Clean spills promptly with a damp cloth to prevent stains and avoid using abrasive cleaners, wax, or harsh chemicals that can damage the floor’s finish. Use a manufacturer-recommended vinyl floor cleaner occasionally for a deeper clean, and always dry the floor thoroughly to prevent moisture damage. Additionally, place protective pads under furniture legs and use area rugs in high-traffic zones to minimize wear. Following these simple steps will help your LVP flooring maintain its vibrant appearance and provide years of reliable service throughout your Central Ohio home!
• A: At Soft Step Carpet and Flooring, we recommend several key steps to care for your newly installed carpet and maintain its appearance and durability. First, avoid heavy foot traffic on the carpet for at least 24 to 48 hours after installation to allow the fibers and adhesive to set properly. Regular vacuuming with a vacuum appropriate for carpet type is essential—ideally once or twice a week—to prevent dirt and debris from embedding into the fibers. Address spills and stains immediately by blotting with a clean, dry cloth and using a manufacturer-approved carpet cleaner if necessary. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning methods that can damage the carpet. Additionally, consider professional carpet cleaning every 12 to 18 months to remove deep-seated dirt and refresh the carpet fibers. At Soft Step Carpet and Flooring, we provide expert advice tailored to your specific carpet type, helping you extend the life and beauty of your investment. For any concerns or to schedule maintenance services, contact us for personalized support throughout Central Ohio.
A. Some vacuums are better for maintaining your new carpets than others.
SWEEPERS: (Dyson Warning) Some older model sweepers and “Dyson-like” sweepers may be hard to use with your new carpet due to the new fibers and softness.
Please read the floor care instructions, as Soft Step Carpet provides no warranty for sweepers.
